  • Asset Map the state emergency service system

- Accessible contact database of

  Response Agencies and Personnel

- Equipment Inventory

- Needs Survey

  • Synchronize Statewide Vision, Mission, and Goals, with allowance for local variations
  • Engage and support MSFCA and MFDA to promote statewide minimum standards

 

FIVE YEAR GOALS:

  • Double number of active volunteers (and equip them)
  • Reduce responder injuries and deaths by 50%
  • Double non-govt grant dollars to rural fire agencies
  • 70% FF1 certification
  • 75% Wildland FF1 certification
  • 65% Dispatchers trained/certified
  • 50% HazMat Awareness Certification
  • 50% Extrication certification
  • Cut response time by 35%
  • Add three mobile training trailers
  • 75% Local providers on line with statewide mutual aid system

 

EIGHT YEAR GOALS:

  • Achieve 50% certification FF2
  • Cut response time an additional 20%
  • Reduce average age of vehicles by ten years; double reliability
  • 30% HazMat Operations certification
  • Achieve statewide adoption of Ready, Set, Go
  • Increase minimum provider budget to $10,000
  • NIMS Statewide Compliance
  • Sprinkler code throughout Montana
  • 90% Trustees are non-FR’s
  • Most District Boards comprised of conflict-free Trustees

 

TEN YEAR GOALS:

  • Every agency has approved financial controls
  • State minimum funding system based on our industry's specifications (not the state's)
  • FSTS funded for 15 instructors
  • Fully functional fire academy
  • Fire/Rescue Doctoral Program in State
  • Fully coordinated statewide Disaster Plan (including local plans: the last mile)
